This trimester, students have been learning all about how habitats provide living things what they need to survive. We have read a story about how an oak tree can be the habitat for many different organisms. Furthermore, we have looked at different birds and their features (e.g. beaks, talons, etc.). We have learned that birds with similar beaks eat similar foods. How birds look and behave are determined by what they eat. Today, students had the opportunity to use (and play with) several different models representing different birds’ beaks and how those birds use their beaks to eat!
